JCW engine kit

Hi,

I just ordered my 09' MCS this week-end and then realized that there was actually a JCW engine kit for $2100 as an option!!! But then it only bumps it up to 189hps instead of 175hps so it does not seem really worth it. Have any of you had the kit installed? Is it worth it? I did not take any of the sport options so I have standard suspension, tires, etc... Would I need to upgrade that too?

thanks,

franck-

You'd be better off re-ordering a Works model with 208 hp, upgraded transmission and larger brakes.

how about ecu units

Aren't there ECU units out there that can give you at least as much more hps for less money?

that's the *stage 1* kit. you can add it afterwards if you want. it's a dealer-installed kit, tho if you tick it when you order it it might be installed at factory. there's quite a bit of coverage of this a whiles back, pretty easy to find

Sorry to jump in on your thread Franck...

But I was also interested and would like everyone's opinions on getting the Stage I upgrade through a dealer.

I have a 2008 MCS and I was thinking of upgrading. Yes I know there are cheaper / better alternatives out there but my major concern for the Stage I upgrade is due to my MCS being 3 months old and I the fact that I don't want to ruin the warranty.

Opinion?
