R56 wheels fitment?

I'm trading in my 04' MCS for an 07' MCS, and I'm thinking of swapping the rims I have on my car. They are 17x7.5" +40mm offset. Will they fit the R56? Also, are the centerbores the same as R53?

The centerbore hasn't changed, and based on the diameter/width/offset, the old wheels should clear all of the brake and suspension parts. The only issue might be the bolt-hole diameter for the wheels. The new MINI lug bolts are 14mm in diameter, and not all aftermarket wheels have bolt holes large enough to work with the newer bolts.

I'm assuming you're talking about your Volk wheels. If that's the case, you've already got some money invested in some nice, lightweight, strong wheels, so if you'd like to keep them, there are options, even if the bolt holes are too small for the new bolts.

You could have the wheel holes drilled out to fit the new bolts, or Texas Speedwerks (www.txwerks.com) has a 14mm to 12mm conversion stud kit that will let you use just about any aftermarket wheels. I got the conversion lug kit for my car, both to ensure that I could use just about any wheels out there, and also because having studs instead of lug bolts makes it easier/quicker to change wheels.

Thanks,
I'll try to find a 14mm bolt to fit on my wheels.

Remember that the R56 has larger brakes, like the GP had. I don't know if there are any of the older wheels that don't fit over the GP brakes. Anyone?
