Recently, I had the amber LEDs in my spedo and tac replaced with blue ones. The results are amazing. I wana give special thanks to Foxtrot_Xray who knows more about this kind of stuff than I could even hope to learn. I also wana thank him for snapping these pics, because my camera cant do night shots to save its life.
Wow that looks GREAT!!! What is involved in doing a modification like that?
Literally removing the stock amber LEDs and resoldering on blue replacements (something like 25 total). Not difficult per se (assuming you have the right soldering tool - which I don't), but definitely time-consuming.
Sorry I didn't get any day shots. Honestly, I forgot to. However, seeing as howmy dash is non-standard (BRG), it wouldn't have looked too hot anyways. Like I had told 1nf3rn0, I'm working on the needles at the moment. Trying to find a nice way of getting them up in a different color..
That's the blue LEDs he replaced the (inactive) redline LEDs with interacting with the sweeping red needle. Right? The question, Foxtrot, is how you hotwired the "extra" red-line LEDs to light up...
That was a real gutsy move. He literally had to dremel my tac to open theat section up to the light of the blue LEDs.

I know exactly what he did then... pretty cool. I might do that myself (I replaced my gauge faces with the Outmotoring ones due out soon, and some extra light on the "dead" redline hash marks would help.
Ya. It shouldn't be too hard, as long as you don;t slip and do some real damage... And it sould look fine, as long as the light diffuses right (but anythings better than having a dead spot there...)

I want this done so bad. I need someone in Cali that has the skills to do this. I guess its time to start searching. Or, maybe a raodtrip out to foxtrots part of the USA.

Actually, you guys are over-thinking it. That image is of the gauges in 'test' mode. In test mode, the Speedo computer lights up EVERYTHING - even unused tic marks. I dremmeled out the light barrier leading to the two sections before and after the '6' tic mark to let the blue light in. When the Speedo lights up the red LED, it mixes with the blue and makes an interesting purple.
It was a risk, so I did mine, to show him what it'd look like. I knew I'd like it, so I was planned to keep it like that.. I really like the Outmotoring ones, and since 1nf3rn0 liked the blue tics, I gave him my fascia and went ahead and did his (mine, now), and also did my Speedo for the unused high-beam light at the top in preparation.
If anyone wants me to do any gauges, just let me know. The more I do, the faster I'll get at doing them. I'm working on a set that will be changed to WHITE right now, and am anxious to see the finished result.
