Clear Bra with Bonnet Stripes?

I need some reasurrance. I am scheduled to have the Clear Bra put on my new MCS. I did mention to the guy that it has adhesive bonnet stripes. Does anybody have the clear bra with bonnet stripes? If so did it ome out good as far as the installation goes? I am concerned about a raised area along the edge of the stripes and clear bra, possibly dirt getting in there, but what do I know. I am just paranoid that is will come out like crap.

Yep, I do.

I've had the clearbra for about five months now. Not a speck of dirt has gotten under the seam where the clearbra goes over the stripes (or anywhere else, for that matter). I love the clearbra and it's been a great investment for me. Three months of driving with no clearbra equalled two paint chips. Five months of driving with it equals not a single paint chip.

Of course, the optimum situation is to put the stripes over top the clearbra. But I figure by the time the stripes need to be replaced, the clearbra may need to be replaced, too. And if not, I'll just have to suck up the extra money to have that portion of the bra removed and reinstalled.

I had my clear bra installed over the stripes before I took delivery. After a year and a half, no problems what so ever. Of course if you put your face right up to it you can tell but other than that, it looks fine. Check out my gallery for some pics.

I have xpel over my stripes. Yes, it looks and works fine - the problem is that lifespan of xpel is about 5 years, but lifespan of vinyl stripes will likely be less - and it also limits your ability to change stripes if you wanted to...I'm having my bonnet xpel replaced due to a defect - and will remove my stripes at the same time and put new ones on top of the clearbra. If I had it to do again, I'd remove the factory stripes before adding the clearbra - that gives you the most options. stripes are cheap compared to clearbra....

I second Blimey's suggestion on removing the stripes before the clearbra goes on. That's what I did, and I'm so happy to have done it that way. Yes, you can see the line, of course, but not unless you're looking for it!

I had the opposite on my '04. I had the clear bra installed first and the stripes added after. It looked great and I never had any problems with either.

Ditto, clear bra first on my 03MC, then the stripes. No problems.

I have a clear bra with stripes and my clear bra goes right to the edges of the stripes instead of going over them. I think that is a better option because I can replace the stripes if I need to without messing up the clear bra.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I decided to remove the stripes and replace them after the clear bra is put on. Already got a nick on the hood , have to makesure that is all taken care of berore it is put on. Anyone have suggestions where the best place would be to get new stripes, and maybe even better ones than the oem ones as far as durability goes?
