I've got a credit of $50 on my CC so I need to spend it. I want to replace my worn looking bonnet stripes but I also want to put on a pair of boot stripes. She currently has no boot stripes.
I'll do both at some point but for the here and now, what should I do? Help me pick which one to do rignt now.
I would replace the bonnet stripes with a good high quality vinyl from a local sign shop, so when you're ready to do the boot you can have it done in the same material. IMO, the factory stripes are a low grade vinyl(?) that doesn't wear very well.
Here's a pic of my black car before I sold it with custom "factory" stripes in a high quality vinyl...
That is the direction I am leaning right now, do the boot first and then move on to replace the bonnet. This way I can practice putting on new stripes before attempting the removal and installation of the bonnet stripes.
I say spend the money on a mod that doesn't make your car ugly, but then again, if stripes are your thing, go for it. If the bonnet stripes are looking old though, I'd definitely redo them first.
I did a search, found a thread on cleaning, and found a post that suggested Softscrub with bleach. Just did it and wow, that made a huge difference, they look nearly brand new again. So much for having to replace'em. Got a coat of wax on them now drying.
