Don't replace those egg yolks, paint 'em!

Don't know if anyone else has done this, but in an attempt to get rid of my egg yolks, I removed the amber bulbs, put tape over the metal end and about 1/4 of an inch of the glass at the base, and sprayed the rest of the glass with silver spray paint. Once dry, popped them back in, they still glow amber when I turn on my blinker, but the egg yolk is gone!

So, if for some reason there is a problem with them in the future, I'll just buy silver ones, but for now this was a nice EASY and FREE mod, since I had the paint in the garage, but even if I didn't, much cheaper than buying silver bulbs!

Done, but are you reffering to the side markers or the front turn signals, the front ones really bugged me.

I'm referring to the front bulbs between the fogs and headlamps...the ones that share the lens with the parking lights.

For those of you who are not DIY'ers, here's a link to the bulbs you can buy.

Your way is good too, don't get me wrong, I'm just lazy. These are installed on my car with the jewel version of the reflector. See my signature pic below. No more fried egg when off, but still amber when it's on...

Excellent, so you've had it done for a while! Any issues to speak of or is everything still good?

Thanks!
