My MCS should be arriving at the dealer in about 2 weeks. One of the first things I would like to do is apply one of the clear bras. Does anyone have any experience doing this themselves? Were you happy with the results. I have done racing stripes in the past, so I have some experience applying film to a car. I want to keep "Big Red" chip free. Any imput would be appreciated.
All Red MCS (By the way, I think the wide stripes in the MINI-Madness cataloge look great!

Do the clear bra before the stripes. If you do the stripes under the clear bra, you will most likely get little airbubbles along the stripe, under the bra.

Otherwise, look for 3M stonegard film for the clearbra itself.

Expect to pay $200-$250 for the hood OR $400-$500 for the hood, headlights, bumpercover, grille slates, and mirror caps (this is referred to as a full wrap). Both of those prices are for material and installation. Do not install it yourself unless you have a lot of experience. Even installers have to take their time with the MINI because of it's curvy hood. So don't cheap out by trying to do it yourself. Pay for quality to get quality results.

I had I.D.S. here in Denver do the full wrap to my MINI.

Ok, I have installed without any previous experience the invinca-shield. It`s not that difficult. Paid around $180 for the full frontal kit. Local MINI dealer was asking $695! Took me about 4 hours. Make sure that the car is totally clean and wax free.
The only problem I ran into is the bonnet. Had to reorder the 2 center pieces for $44
Invinca-Shield uses high quality 3M film.

Paul.

Thanks Paul,
I hadn't heard of Invinca-Shield.
The price looks good.

I believe that with invinca shield, there is a discount going on over at roadfly.org.

I saved like 50 bucks that way when ordering mine. I did the install my sefl.. caus don't know where an installer is... and wanted protection now.. I payed around 130 for the full front. I think that I will have it done professionally done in the summer, but it's ok for the winter now..
