Ok I know some of you are going to see this and say " A/C, you got to be kidding"!!! But I live in beautiful sunny warm South Florida and I live by the A/C. So my question is when the A/C is on (I have the climate control type) is the air blowing from the center vent on the dash board normal?? It seems to take away from the other adjustable vents that face you. Anyone have a idea if this is normal or am I doing something wrong. Thanks and if your from the NE USA I feel sorry for you. When you dig out come down and visit us.

Do an MCO forum thread search on automatic climste control. There's lots of dissatisfaction over the way the system works and is controlled. I think that your system is working properly, it's just that the way that MINI/BMW set it up is way weird. Many of us have resorted to simply not using the "auto" part of the system and instead directing the air via the "chest" and/or "floor" buttons. That way, you also get to control the fan speed and avoid the wind tunnel, howling, fan effect that definitely stinks.
Hopefully, they'll either redesign the system in future models, or even better, provide a software upgrade that makes our current systems work better.
yeah, the vents on the dash (as well as the ones on the extreme sides of the console) are designed to blow air onto the windows, so that it sweeps to the rear of the car (look in your owners manual). it's kind of neat in my opinion, but i dont have my car yet, so...meh.
