Well, I was fortunate to receive mine as a surprise birthday gift from YuccaPatrol, koolmini, sndwave, Sarcux, and Ryephile at the Fall On The Dragon meet in October! I love it! Really a beautiful thing and works so well!
I have noticed that a few things since I got my Whalen.
The sky seems bluer, it doesn't seem to take as long to wash the dog and I have gained AT LEAST 10 hp! That's brake horse power! - not that wimpy flywheel stuff!
"Cloverleaf or Quadrifoglio badges denote variants of Alfa Romeo cars where the name denotes the high-end of the range in comfort and engine size, but previously denoted Alfa Romeo racing cars in the pre-Second-World-War era. The image first appeared in 1923 when Ugo Sivocci presented one prior to the start of the 14th Targa Florio as a good luck token to the team. This became the symbol of competition Alfas, denoting higher performance."
Thanks for that tidbit, XAlfa! I am a big fan of Alfa Romeos! And to think that a Cloverleaf connotes higher performance, well........I really enjoy shifting with the Whalen!
I've been debating this myself but was concerned about scalding my palm in the summer. In the winter, I tend to be a homebody. But in the spring and summer I am out and about all day. How does the Whalen shift knob react when the MINI has been parked in the sun in July? Especially those that have a sunroof? I'm in Georgia, so upper 90's and even 100's occassionally is not unheard of from June through August.

Maybe it's time to start exploring the redline, huh Clover?

I don't have one myself but it will get quite warm in the summer. I read of people just putting a glove or mitten over it and someone here was knitting little Whalen coozies too.

It feels smooth. It feels 'right'. It feels like it was supposed to be there from the begining. It feels cold in the morning. But that's ok. It feels good when it's warmed up! It feels positive. It feels like a.....well...it just feels like a WHALEN!
