Hello everyone. I was flipping through the Uk Magazine, Max Power. There is a short blip on a company, Continental, that has developed the Personalityre. I have seen tires that have a colored strip in them but these are all color. They show a pic of a Union Jack tire and bright pink tire. I found a bunch of articles on them but no prices. They are made in Ireland. They add a silica to the rubber that can be dyed and it's all the way through so you can leave colored patches. There is also Leopard print and 60's flower print. I thought it was pretty cool and when I saw the Union Jack, I thought of all of you. Take care. Marni

I don't know that I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon with this one quite yet, but it is an interesting idea... I found this link that shows some pics of these tyres!

I read several years ago that Formula 1 was going to start using color-coordinated tyres for each team. The article stated that rubber is not naturally black as we're used to. They are dyed black, meaning that any color could be used in the manufacturing process. The fact is it is slow to come because we're so used to black and the manufacturers don't think that the public is ready for multi-colored tyres.

I'm not a tyre expert, just what I read...

Thanks for posting the link! I was having a hard time visualizing multicolor tires... Now that I saw them, ACK! I don't imagine they'll stay very nice looking for long... Imagine how dirty they'd get!

Yeeeechhhh (IMHO). I'd think these would be favored by the same sorts of folks who do things like glue hundreds of little troll heads all over their cars.
