It's time to blow some of the no interest loan I gave the federal goverment. Tax return time.
I have never read a bad review of Zaino, so we know it's good. I don't realy have 8 hours to burn on a wax job, if I don't need too.
Looking for suggestions on good protection that won't turn white on the palstic trim. I see alot of imported products on one of the sponsors sites, but frankly haven't heard of any of them.
I've tried a few searches on micro fiber towels, found some good reading, but didn't see a clear cut best place to buy them.
Personally, I use Klasse products and have been very happy with the results. Two simple steps...no plans on changing. No problems on black trim either.
I've shopped around, but now I get almost all my stuff (including microfiber) from North American Car Care. The products are top notch and the prices have been lower than some others I've seen. I like the one-stop shopping thing. They do run MINI specials, too!
if you want something cheap and easy to apply, try some Meguiars Gold Class
wax. It's not polymer so it won't last that long, but it won't whiten up black
plastic pieces either if you mess up.
use some masking tape around the arches, etc when you apply polymer
wax. fastest easiest way.
zaino also offere accelerators these days so the drying time is actually
a fraction now.
Try the new Meguiar's product called NXT. The stuff rocks!
I used to use Zaino, but this stuff is better. It's cheaper and easier to get a hold of, too. They just released it last month. It can be found at Wal-Mart, Pep Boys, and I would guess other automotive stores as well. I think it will mark up black plastic, but only if you let it sit, so wipe it off right away. When I apply it, if I use a buffer, I tape off the plastic; if I do it by hand, I just have a rag handy to wipe up any I might accidently get on the trim. I'm pretty careful when applying by hand, tho, so not much wiping is necessary.
I second that. NXT Tech Wax is the best stuff. No more 12 coats of Zaino for me!! 1 coat with our without a buffer, it's slick stuff. I prefer the DA simply because I like to keep my paint scratch free, and it's easy to DA the whole car. Zaino was cool, but it doesn't offer the protection of NXT. Plus I can buy it locally and for cheap! Oh did I mention is SMELLS really sweet???? MMmmm Yum!

I use pak shak towels. After reading all the rave reviews about them I went and ordered some, and love them. I think the website is pakshak, as for polish, Zaino is tops in my book
I just Zaino'd.......stripped the old wax using dawn dishwashing liquid.......a once over with Z-7 car wash.......clay barred it.......two layers of Z-2, a layer of Z-5 and then another of Z-2.....all with ZFX........two sessions worth of work. Tomorrow, I'll add a layer of Z-6 gloss enhancer.....and the polish will probably be blinding, applied to the dark silver color which reflects incredibly.
It looks like the car I picked up at the dealer. Another vote for Zaino.
I just gotta go against all the Zainoheads, and say that I prefer Mothers Products. I have never used Zaino, so I'm sure Zaino people will say that I must in order to understand its greatness. I go with the 3 step process that cleans, seals, and protects. Its inexpensive and looks great. Now, I have a Pure Silver MCS, so its shine does not show as well as a darker colored MINI, that may have a factor in it as well.
