I've looked around and have only found CF hood and boot lids for the other Mini Cooper models.

I'm wondering if there are any hoods, hatches, doors or roofs out there? Even FRP; goal is just to be lighter and have a better power to weight ratio. Considering the engine can only produce so much power with all bolt-ons, I've read around 260-270 WHP "reliably", lightweight parts seem like a nice next step.

Anyone found any good CF products for this car?

 

Nothing Yet, i have been searching also. every distibutor i have emailed says the car is too new and there is not a market yet to make the parts. i guess we will have to wait 6-8 years for about anything carbon fiber that is not just cosmetic.

 

Ugh... Good thing it will be a couple years till I get one, so it will only be about a 4-6 year wait at that point. :|

 

Anyone know of any part yet?

I've been searching and still can't find much. I know Prodrive is more than willing to sell parts, but those cost a few bucks more than I'm willing to spend right now.

 

Nope! Have never seen or found anything except for dash parts, scuttles and mirror covers on eBay. I WANT A HOOD!!!!!

 

We could use a hood! Cf hood would probably drop 15-20 lbs from the steel hood and heavy *** front end. ��

 

Doesn't Duell AG make a carbon fiber hood. Be warned if they do it will be expensive, and I mean expensive.

 

I would love one with a standard mini cooper hood scoop, but at this point anything would do. I don't think duell AG has any. If they did it would be around $7000.00 knowing them.

 

IIRC a person on here installed a carbon fiber hood on a R56. The first one came in damaged and maybe even the second one too. He had a hard time aligning it. He has a bunch of YouTube videos. Can remember his name.

 

At this rate, I might as well start making my own cf parts! Haha. R60 seems to be slow in the functional carbon fiber/lightweight parts area.

Contacted seibon and they acted like the countryman was the same as the standard mini. They were clueless:(

 

I was surprised nobody makes some easily bolted-on fender flares.

 

They only have a couple bolt on applications for MINI right now. Non for the Countryman.

I think a CF hood & hatch would be awesome.

The hood and hatch seem to be the heaviest pieces, I just don't think fenders would save much weight. I did that on my E46M3 in the past and saved about 8 lbs, but those were much more dense the our fenders. :thumbs:

I wasn't suggesting replacement fenders. I meant flares. In case you needed some 10" wide tires for some reason.

 

I guess the next question would be...

Who wouldn't want 10" wide tires?!
