heres what i did. flipped the armrest around, had to keep it since i have mini connected. that allowed me to put in a cup holder between the armrest and the ebrake. just used the rail attacher from the sunglass holder and put a cup holder/organizer i found at target for $5. so far it works really well. i can still use the armrest even though it looks like its really far back and i have a huge cup holder thats pretty secure.

Is there no chance that the arm rest facing forward would flip out of the way enough to use that or clear it when flipped down?

with a smaller profile cup holder than the one I decided on you definitely could. but i wanted to still be able to use the arm rest and have a cup holder and since i was moving it i decided to get something that wouldnt have any problem holding any cup i would throw at it.

Mini Fini sells a mountable cup holder for the Countryman now. But, the Contigo travel mug, which has a narrow base, fits in the front cup holder without impacting any of the switches. Plus, it has a push button opening...keeps product very hot for a long period of time.

Some people seem to forget that passengers like to have drinks, too. It's not all about the driver, lol!!
