So, plasti-dip is non permanent? How would one remove the plast-dip if ever chosen? I'd like to see what my grill slats would look like, but I don't want to do it and then not like it.

How did you donthe belt line?? Bet ittook ages to mask off!

To remove it RF1 you simply peel it off. It sets as a strechy rubber and peels off. But the longer it is on, and the thinner you apply it, the harder it is to ge off.

I've not ever seen it in Home Depot or Lowes. I ordered mine from Amazon.com or somewhere similar. I think only a few actual stores (contractor supplies and the like) actually stock it.

I got my plastidip at lowes. It is with all the other spray paints, but you have to look VERY closely... They only carry black. In my local store it was at the very top left of the spray paint display, and next to it was the dip type plastidip...

Hey, thanks! I need some more to do a friend's grille and I was about to order some online. I'll have to check for it at lowes first though. Maybe I just missed it there the first time.

No problem! It was hard to spot... They have tons of spraypaint, mostly Krylon and Rustoleum, and then two little things of plastidip... I actually missed it the first time I was there...

Yeah. no doubt about it being hard to spot. When i went to my Home Depot, I had to recruit all the people working paints to find it.

Most Ace hardware stores carry it also - and it's easier to find there. Ask and they'll know what you're talking about.

Nice job. I love Plasti-dip! I've done both of my MINIs.

So do you have to sand down the area first for plasti-dip??
Im wanting to do the joey mod, but scared that it may peel and such. is it pretty permanant?

Usually not a fan of the plasti dip but on the BRG it looks hot! I especially love how the stripes turned out, glad you gave that a second go around.

From what I understand, you do not need to sand to plasti dip. If the plasti dip peels, simply peel it all off and then reapply (if you liked the look that is). I believe it actually helps preserve what is underneath. It is good because if you should ever decide to part from your MINI, you can just peel it off and have a pristine (or whatever condition it was in when you plasti dipped it) part.

Thanks. The green and black is definitely a great combo. I love when it's dark out and you can hardly make out the car because of the black rims. A friend of mine called my car "murdered out" haha love it.

Oh and there's no sanding involved. Although I'd recommend gloss paint for a Joey mod instead, which should be sanded.

Here's a more recent pic:

And just a cool pic:

Nope. I did my scoop last week...just cleaned it well first (I used Simple Green).
