Changing the Scoop

How easy is it to change out the bonnet scoop?

I'm picking up my 2010 MCSC tonight and am already concerned that the chrome bonnet scoop is just a bit too much. I know I'll get the one that's painted to match my car, as well. If I want to switch back to that one, is it pretty easy to do?

Thanks gurus!

Eek.. Chrome scoop on BRG? From what I have read the clips seem to break easily but I dont have an S so Im sure someone with experience (seems to be almost everyone with an R56) will chime in.

I've changed mine quite a few times. I think I eventually broke a couple of clips, but no big deal. Just grab it and wiggle it around with some upwards force till it starts to come loose.

And don't do it right after you've driven the car.

Well the "chrome" is just stick on. I wouldn't be surprised if it is painted underneath. And yes the turbo heat will make it loss its adhesive. Saw someone the other day that the "chrome" is coming off.

It's easy to pull the scoop. Just remove the screw under the hood first then give it a good hard pull.
