Gotta get cloth seats...best source?

I really don't like my vinyl seats...very hot in summer.

I'd like to find a couple 2007+ cloth front seats from a junkyard (also considering a trade with someone or buying seat covers)...is there an easy way to locate wrecked MINI's? Or do I just have to make a bunch of phone calls?

Thanks...

You can Google "salvage MINI Cooper" and a bunch of companies will come up but most only sell the entire car. The yellow pages and a bunch of phone calls is your best bet.

You could also look for wrecked minis with salvage titles on ebay. They may be able to hook you up with a parted out mini.

Maybe not the cheapest solution, but would solve the problem:

Wet Okole's...yep...if I do covers, they are on the top of the list...but I've read several postings that they don't do much to solve the sticky/sweat problem of the leatherette...still, it must be SOME improvement, plus they have a seat heater option which would be very nice here in Santa Fe.

The Okoles will not help with the sweat problem as they don't breathe at all.

Check with a local auto upholsterer and see what the cost would be to just redo them.

I love my Wet Okole's and they have none of the 'stickieness' of the Leatherette that they cover. Extremely comfortable in South Florida.

It is true that they are waterproof, but being constructed with a layer of nice fabric laminated over 1/8" high quality neoprene foam,
they feel like they breathe.

If you have a Dive Shop nearby, go feel the material used to make a high quality 'Wet Suit' to get a good idea.

The Wet Okole people are also good about mailing you color samples of the material, ask for a larger sample.

Photos of my Wet Okole's are in my Gallery.

I also agree that a visit to your local Auto Upholstery Shop would be an excellent idea.
