LED Antenna

Well, it has been a slow summer for me, so I finally pulled the trigger on a little project I have been wanting to do for years.
I added an LED light to my antenna for one-of-a-kind "youification".
I saw this idea years ago at the 24 Hours of Lemans. A team used an LED on its antenna to help the team identify the car as it blasted past the pits in the night hours. Teams have used various LED, neon, and electroluminescent devices for years on their cars to help pick them out at night, so I finally went that route with my MINI.
I purchased a new antenna to use on the project, just in case the project turned pear shaped...
A much more electrically proficient friend did all the "real" work, I just helped with the inspiration.

Here is the finished product (sorry for the low quality of the vid and pics, they are from a mephone):
(Volume on the video is super loud, sorry, I couldn't figure how to lower it)

If you are interested in getting one of these for youself, PM me and I can get you more info.
Enjoy!!

So it is no longer functions as a radio antenna then? From what I understand, you pulled out the old wires.

I went to an autoparts store & bought a locking antenna ball that lights up whenever there is movement & it has a light sensor that keeps it from comming on durring the day. They had quite a few colors to choose from.

I think it was $9.99??? I'll have to see if I can find one online...I think it was Autozone.

P.S. I do love your mod
