well, you can patch certain areas if it blends well, as its pretty thin stuff.

Ive seen CR vinyl rings...dunno who did them, but they didnt match FYI.

Metallics seem to match better for vinyl

Lyle claims to have a good match for Chili Red but I haven't seen it in person.

These pics seem to match pretty well though:

Drew sold it to someone on NAM, maybe they'll notice and chime in.

am I the only one who likes the look of black trim? I like body color + black ...both work for me. Yet I chose to go black as my car is dark silver w/ all black roof, black wheels, black interior, black wheel arches, ...just seemed that black trim worked well on my Mini.

I have Lyle's chili red wrapped tailight trims & side scuttles... Match extremely well in person to the paint.

Only photo I could find was this mock that I made of a cooper spoiler but it shows how well the red tailight rings match the paint.

I would say that the majority of people on this forum prefer black to body color.

I always try to make the case for body color because it cleans up the look of the car instead of making the trim bits stand out even more. I've done it both ways and very much prefer body color.

On some colors the chrome looks fantastic though. Horizon Blue, Hot Chocolate and Midnight Black all come to mind.

+1. Car needs some contrast in colors....in dark colors as the ones you suggested chrome or body-colored would look better than black.

Now that I looked at the OP's pic again, I think that black grills will balance things out with the roof and mirrors. Using body color for the headlight rings and the taillights will clean out the look and get rid of the chrome.

Do you have pics? I'd like to see the black rings with DS/B...even if you have the black arches and I don't.

Couldn't agree with you more. Blacked out my grille, gas cap to begin with and liked it a lot. On a whim decided to coat the side scuttles - LOVE it, think it looks real mean, to the point that I cancelled my JCW side scuttle order. Wish I could post pics but my camera is getting cleaned - takes 2.5 months!!

Now I just have to get a bit more cash in hand for the head/taillight surrounds and handles!

..here ya go,

i'll see if I have a shot of the gas cap and rear tail light rings.

I've stopped working on the exterior and have focused on engine mods for the time being. Yet next on the list for the exterior is CF side scuttles to match the CF hood scoop and black out the door handles.

Yep, once you do the head/taillight it should look pretty nice!!! BTW, what are "side scuttle"? Are those the same as "sideskirts" in the BMW world? Meaning the panel below the door.

Once you "fix" the door handles, it's gonna look sick!

Thanks! -appreciate the compliment. It doesn't really show all the well in photos, but my wheels are a dark silver on the outside and the inside is a dull gloss black (their called "Black Shadows", -they match the dark silver + black trim of the car).

Anyway, I do like the solid body color trim as well that most of your cars have, ..it was a difficult decision for me to decide on body color vs black out.
