oil temp gauge installed

I finally got my oil temp gauge installed. It figures that someone would have an adapter out before I got my first prototype completed. My problem was the sensor hole was in the wrong place when the adapter was tightened down. I started thinking about how to specify where the hole should be drilled in the drawing to make sure the machine shop put it in the right place. There seemed to be too many variables though so I set the project down for a while. When I noticed Craven made an adapter with two holes, I figured that would at least make mine functional. So here's my adapter with a second sensor hole.

I plugged up the hole that interfered, and last night mounted the gauge, wiring and oil adapter and sensor.

Here's a shot of starting to take the interior apart.

No wonder some people say their right foot gets hot. That's the heater core right there.

Anyway, the hardest part was reinstalling the mounting strip on the bottom of the windshield and getting it aligned to the plastic panels that cover the battery, brake master cylinder, and other stuff. It ended up being easier to attach the strip to one of the panels and reattach that to the car as one piece. The smaller panel went back on just fine.

I bought the same prosport gauge Alta uses in their kits, but got oil temp. Of course I have the rattling reset button issue yet to solve.
