Ovular door trim rings - removable?

I did a little searching but didn't come up with much..

I will be replacing my front bumper and figured I could send the paint guy a few more trim pieces to be painted while he has it all mixed up. I thought the piano black dash trim and the oval shaped door trim rings might look good in the body color...so are they removable?

Thanks for any insight/help.

parts of the dash come off easy, other not so much. as for the door rings I know on the 1st gen cars they are glued on and while you can remove them I'd not do it again.

There is a thread about this, but I believe it is under a thread on Wood Trim. The bottom line is yes and no. The door rings will come off, BUT they are attached by about 13 plastic pins that are spot welded (robot would be my guess). If you got them off you would have to buy new replacement ones and I have no idea how you might weld them back on.

Possible swap?

I have a 08 MCS. My oval door rings are painted silver. I happen to like the black look. Mine could be painted. I'm wondering if we could each remove the door panel sections and swap panels.

I did it. Drilled out the spot plastic welds and then got epoxy putty to reinstall them. Worked like a dream. One word of warning though, if you mess up and have to buy new "Halos" from the dealership it will run you around $700 for new ones. Check out how mine came out here: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...-cf-parts.html
