euro parcel shelf

Does anyone know how to remove the kick plate under the steering wheel? I just bought the euro parcel shelf and need to know how to get the panel off so that I can put on the parcel shelf. Any help in the removal would be a big help.
Mike

I removed mine on my '05 MCS when I added he aux in to the back of the radio...just pull on it, it's just clipped on. You won't break it. It takes some effort.

To add just a bit more granularity to the instructions...pull from the top first. There are two pins holding the top two corners of the knee bolster that will pop out of their seats. Then you'll be able to observe that the bolster is attached at the bottom by three hinge points. You'll also see how the bolster hinge pins can be lifted vertically and then the whole piece will be free.

Good luck!

The first part of the instructions were great pulled from the top and it came down, also got the 2 outside hinges free. Do you know if the center hinge is a pull up or push down, I don't want to damage anything that I will have to have the dealer replace. thanks again for all your help.

I installed my shelf last year and don't remember how it came out. I do remember it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. checkout this thread: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...-question.html

there's a good link with step-by-step instructions and pictures.

I believe the center hinge goes in the opposite direction.

Parcel shelf

I have just taken delivery of a 2006 MCSc, and wondered where you located the parcel shelf. When I did a quick search it appeared they were NLA.

thanks,

Jon
Not sure about color (or anything else right now) as the two of us are just getting acquainted.

I bought mine from Moss Motors. These cars should have come with that shelf. I love mine.

Moss no longer carries these.

Look here..... http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...cel-shelf.html

I got it on E-bay, turns out it was from mini mania, I think they are getting rid of them as they do not work with the 2nd gen Cooper. I know of a few people that have ordered from the dealer, if you can't get one from mini mania, or e-bay This is one of the better mods that I did and it really come in handy. I agree that they should have come on the car.

I was thinking of running some additions to my Alpine system behind the part... Seems easy to pull the section off. But looks like the link didn't work. Any ideas?
