We had our '03 done with 35% and loved it! I think it was around $165, but not sure (it's been awhile). We are in Ohio. Planning to have our JCW done soon!
Depending on the light-sometimes it would look really dark and sometimes not. Below is a picture on a nice bright sunny day!
Here's mine with 50% front windshied and 18% all the rest....

I got 35% all around today..Post useless without pics, I know. I'll post some pics next wk. I'm going on a habitat for humanity style trip (not run by habitat humanity) It's basically a group of us from my old high school. The grads (have to be graduated from high school at least a year) are the chaperones oldest one is like 28...Then the high school kids. Anyway, I'll be gone tomorrow-tues. The car will get to settle since I'm driving a crv down and no one will be driving the MINI while I'm gone. So, I'll post some pics when I get back.
I still think It's too light..Thinking about tinting the sunroof. Any thoughts?

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to call the place tomorrow and try to set something up for when I get back. I probably won't be able to open the sunroof for a week, right?

Seeing as how different states have different tint regulations, do you ever run into trouble driving in other states? Do the police have any authority to enforce their own regulations?
If not, I'm finding the state with the most lax tint laws that also doesn't require front plates to try and register my vehicle in.

Arizona baby! 35% is legal and NO FRONT PLATE (coming from NY where the stupid plate is required and legal tint is 70%)
I got 30% all around (30% and no Front Plates here in Indiana ), and Perforated Vinyl for the Sunroof. I love both.

Ordered 2/27/09.... in Paint Shop 3/30... Waiting for a boat as of 4/3... On the "Georgia Highway" on 4/6... Landed sometime between 4/17 and 4/21, Took Delivery 4/28!
I just got back from my trip today...I think I'm going to go pitch black on the 3 rear windows...The place I went to said they don't do sunroofs..I can't get a good picture because it is currently scattered showers.

Both look amazing...I doubt they'd do the front for me if they won't do the sunroof....Mach V Dan, yours looks a lot different than mine..The no sunroof makes a world of difference. I was quoted 130-150 to go pitch black or pretty close to it on the back 3. I'll try to get some picks up next week it's suppose to be nice.

In NC, 35% is the limit, so rather than attract more attention from the troopers, I decided to stay there. Remember, the glass already has some tint as it is, so adding a 35% tint film over the already slightly tinted glass is really all you should need.
On my Astro Black '08 MCS, I did 35% all around (not front), and I have no sunroof. Black interior stays cool (white roof and no sunroof helps), and I can see just fine.
In some states you pay an additional fee when you have your car inspected as they meter the glass to make sure you are legal.

It's 35% in WV too. I live right next to the PA border in the northern panhandle. I thought it was 35% for front 2 doors and I can get whatever on the rear 3. That's what they told me, but I looked at the state laws on the internet and it says 35 all around. I think I'm cancelling my appointment.

for Huper Optik films.
1) Superior infrared reduction
2) Optically purer: no noticeable distortion / antiglare
3) No annoying diffraction over the defroster lines when compared to regular films
I regretted not getting coated sideview mirrors when I picked up the car.... then I put the Huper Optik & the night time glares from sideview mirrors are history !!

Standard tint here in UK is 72% on front side windows, (allows 72% of light through), the law allows it to be 70%. On the rears we can do what we want.
But my question to the people who put 35% over ready tinted windows is not what the law says if you get pulled over, but what happens when the light outside is dropping and your at a T-junction waiting to pull away, then you move just before BANG and motorcyclist flies across your hood.
Would you wear sunglasses at night, because tints on the front windows are just the same, if not worse, atleast you can remove your shades. Dangerous, thats why the % laws exist, it's to protect other people, not so they can see inside.
35% is not that bad at night/dusk. 15% was a bit difficult to deal with in complete darkness (I took out a mailbox with my previous car, but I was off the road and in complete darkness).
The big theory here is that tint laws are for Police safety - they need to know where your hands are when they approach the vehicle.
I personally won't go below 35% on the fronts, but I know a lot of people who do. The only regrets I heard from them were because of getting ticketed repeatedly, not that they can't see at night.
