Posted some pics of my armrests after recovering them in a blue vinyl. Plan on doing the trim on the dash as soon as I figure out how to remove it. Also want to do the area encircled by the door trim,, but not sure how to remove the trim itself and speaker.

Reason: adding pics

The blue looks good. Did you remove the arm rest to paint/dye it? How doe it come off? I'd like to cover it with black ostrich leather. Or cow leather stamped to look like ostrich -- depending on how cheap I am at the time.
The trim and vinyl outside of the trim are one piece. You remove it from the door just by pulling it off. Start at the inside bottom corner and work your way around. The large speaker grille is part of this piece.
The small speaker has a separate cover. It also pulls off. It may take some prying with a screwdriver covered with electricians tape, or something similar. The tricky part is dealing with the mirror controller. It can come apart and drop little pieces into nooks and crannies in the door.
Don't ask me how to remove the vinyl inside the trim area. I didn't even look at it. Not required for a speaker swap.

I removed the armrest to reupholster it, basically went over the original vinyl. You can remove it easy,, its held on by some plastic tabs on the top and bottom. Just grab the top of the arm rest and feel for the first ridge and dig you fingers under it a bit and you'll feel it start to come off the tabs. Pops back on just as easy.
