Colored vinyl

Hi all,

Has anyone changed the color of their interior parts using adhesive vinyl (stickers )?

I would like to change my alloy patina to body color (chile red), and bought some vinyl. I have seen some good wrap jobs that were indistinguishable from paint.

Anyone tried this?

TIA,
Andy

I considered asking one of the vendors (AC) if they could do that... develop vinyl to cover the dash and door ovals. But then I thought about it and backed off.

1. I doubt they could cut it precisely to fit properly, especially on the dash with all the quirky curves.

2. The doors take a lot of abuse from getting in and out of the car. Vinyl might not hold up too well there.

Interesting thought though. And if you do it, keep us posted on how it works out !

Lagston is wrapping interior pieces with vinyl but I dunno if he's done a dash before.

the problem area would be the vent holes, and the center piece that contours around the speedo.

If you already have it, might as well grab your blow dryer and go at it. Just heat it up and gently stretch it over complex contours
