do you mean polishing out any haze on the headlight lens? A friend buffed out his headlights on a Ford Contour which went from a hazy cloudy yellow to perfectly clear but it took hours by hand.....I believe meguiar's makes a product for this purpose called PlastX but I don't know anything about it.....what problem are you having with your lights?

Plast-X only works on plastics though. You would need a glass-specific polish for glass-lensed headlamps.

Here is what I did.

yeah, wetsanding was a must in my case. As has been said, you COULD do this without a polisher - but it would take a long, long time.

Another option - most autoparts stores sell the "Mother's PowerBall" - you could probably use this with your electric drill and some polish and get good results.

my headlight lens does have a few pits from rocks, but no haze...I am pretty sure the lens, at least in my '04 non-xenon is polycarbonate plastic

Can somebody please hit their headlight with a hammer and let us know if it shatters like glass, or cracks like plastic?

Tap Plastics makes a product specifically for polishing plastics. Here's the link. You can also check out their video on "how to" in the 'product information' 'instructional videos' pages.

Meguiar's web site says PlastX can be applied by hand, but I'm sure it's a lot easier with a PC. The results are awesome.

This is the best shot I could find on showcardetailing.com. I could have sworn there were others, but I can't find 'em. Top light is "before." Bottom is "after."

You should check out Headlight Restoration Service (www.hrslights.com ). I have used them them in the past, and my Mini lights came back looking brand new. It was just easier. I hope this helps.
