Broken wheel help

I have the 2 piece 17" web spoke wheels. I hit a curb and bent the lip and was wondering if its possible to buy the outer piece of the wheel by itself. Does anybody know? If not does anybody have two of these wheels they would like to unload?

Sorry to hear about your wheel.

My guess is no, you can't buy the outer part only. I've only ever seen one part number per wheel. I'd check with the parts counter at a dealership to find out for sure.

Lots of wheels turn up on NAM, Ebay, and other sites for sale, so you should be able to find what you need if you can't fix your wheel.

you cannot buy the barrel of the wheel separately.

ebay or craigslist. some barrels can be hammered out and straightened depending on the damage

The web spoke is a two piece wheel, but, in this case, the barrel includes the inner and outer lips. The center is the second piece. The center can be removed without deflating the tire.

Many two or three-piece wheels, like the good old BBS RM's and RS's have the outer lip (RM's) or both lips (RS's) as separate pieces from the rest of the wheels. Aftermarket suppliers sell wider lips to widen the wheels, so they can be bought separately. This also allows the lips to be spun from stainless, so they polish well and, short of wrecking the whole car, are practically indestructible.

Lips can often be hammered back into place, or send the wheels for repair by Wheels America. Web spokes are easily expensive enough to warrant the repair work.

Sets do often come up on NAM. I just recieved my spare set today, in fact. I'm not going to be in Houston for a few weeks, and I'm not going to sell any of them, but they do come up for sale often here on NAM's marketplace. My set was $600, in excellent condition, with half-used run flats and TPMS. -plus a lot for shipping (DHL stopped US domestic shipping in mid deal, costing me an extra $80 to go via UPS - long story) $150 can get a full set of four with tires, TPMS shipped most of the way across the country by GPX (Greyhound Package Express - the best option by far at this point).
