Just a MINIac looking for some new friends. Heading to Ft Polk in June and hoping to get to some events and have some adventures stateside. It will be a new experience for my MINI as it hasn't left Europe yet.

Hey Smiley, I saw you registered on the GSM site, welcome. I moved out of Louisiana last May but its still my home away from home. You'll find the members of the club to be very friendly and fun. You'll experience some southern hospitality.

They get together when they can, mainly towards the Baton Rouge area.

Hey, Smiley... you're going to have to re-train that MINI to drive the stateside speed limits. After 7 years in Germany over two tours of duty, I was whistling Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55" (got a couple of speeding violations to prove it).

Do you fly for the Army ? Copters ??

Anyway, welcome back to the States soon and good luck !

HAHA yes relearning speed limits is going to be a problem

My MINI doesnt like to go slow. He has a couple of violations from the Germans (not my fault I swear )

Im a Blackhawk Crewchief / Mechanic for the Army, don't actually get to fly them though, just ride in the back and GRIN !!!

I've found that watching your speed isn't as difficult as expected... it's kind of hard to go too fast when you're blocked by idiots in both lanes that refuse to even GO the limit I sure miss the slower traffic staying to the right

Yep, the first time I left Germany, I got stationed in Arkansas... lots of wide open spaces for my T-Bird Turbo Coupe to find trouble. After my second tour, I went to Guam where there's not too much space to find trouble.

So... the Polizei got you. You don't talk yourself out of a ticket from those guys (neither does your MINI ).

Cool career field ! Good luck at the next assignment !
