Love bug season

It is lovebug season, judging by the front of d'Mini. How about some ideas on how to make cleaning them off easier. I seem to remember seeing posts about Pam. Anybody around here tried it?

Hope that you have a clear bra installed as those things will take the paint right off! I know when I lived down in Texas that there was no really good way to clean them other than clear bra or keeping a good coat of wax on all areas that could be effected.

Check out Griot's Garage "Bug-Off" for a sprayable barrier that makes the bugs easy to rinse off the next time you wash the car.

I haven't used it myself, but I have a shed-load of other Griot's Garage products and have been impressed with almost everything of theirs I've used.

Here's the link:

Love Bugs

I got this tip from my son-in-law and tried it last night. Works like a charm.
Rinse off the area with the love bugs with your garden hose.
Wet a sheet of Bounce fabric softner and rub over the bug areas.
Rinse off the area again.
Bugs gone!
Even removed the splatter off of the windshield.

My local carwash uses a clay to remove love bugs and it seems to work great. They told me you can purchase it at most automotive supply stores.

I've used the clay bar and it does work. But for the quick and easy......I have a small box of bounce sheets i leave by the garden hose during bug season. Takes me 5 minutes when i get home from work.
Just a matter of choice i guess.

I will have to try that out. It's definitely easier than the clay.
