MINI Casino Drive 11/08/08 from Houston to Lake Charles

Here is a little bit of information:

Depart on Saturday morning, November 8th at 9 AM SHARP from the Baytown, TX Starbucks on Garth Rd and I-10 East. This was originally scheduled for 9/13/08 but rescheduled due to Hurricane Ike.

a. Please have a full tank of gas!
b. Bring your FRS Radio if you have one.

The route will be along the coast up through Cameron, LA and onto Lake Charles, LA.

One or Two casino stops.
a. L’Auberge du Lac Casino Resort, Lake Charles
b. Island of Capri

Have lunch just before getting to Lake Charles.
The time at each casino will vary but I would like to limit the time to two to three hours tops at each.
The Louisiana to Houston Route will consist of some back roads out of Louisiana and then pick I-10 back up near the Texas / Louisiana state line where we will take a more direct route back to Houston. We will stop at I-10 and Hwy 146 to gas up and say go separate ways.

Because of the Casino aspect of this trip you need to take into account the age limitations for Casinos. I suggest you visit each of the Casino website or call them directly to see what children activities are available. They all have areas for kids if you decide to bring children or you can’t contain your own inner child self and rather restrain yourself from the adult fun.

Would like to cordinate meeting up with other MINI owners from the Louisiana / Lake Charles / Kinder areas. Like last time, we will shoot to have a meet up in Cameron, Louisiana with the Louisiana / Gulf South Motoring folks.

This drive is open for discussion and all input is very much encouraged!

See website for updated information: www.minifundrives.com or PM me for more information!
