How to activate GP mode?

I believe you just hit the traction control button (right one in front of shifter) one time.
It should say "GP Mode" under the speed display on the tach.
I usually tap both it and sport every time before I drive off, although, since I am not racing, I am not sure if GP mode is of much need.
