GP a daily driver ?
I have a 2013 jcw all BRG and love the car but my roof looks like it was in a hail storm. I've only had the car for two months . Anyway corporate guy came and look at car and asked what can they do to make me happy so I replied let me get that GP . He replied I can do that . So I was wondering if anyone is driving the GP as a daily driver ? Not sure if its daily driver material. I hope to get some good feed back about this. Thanks guys

Yes I use mine as a DD, changed out the tires to Mich. PSS in 215/45/17 and the ride is better. Still stiff ride but not bad for the roads around DFW. Miss the multifunction Steering wheel but ordered kit from WMW and will install and code next week to get controls for radio, cruise and answer the phone from wheel. Cheers

Basically my jcw's roof was buckling in a sense around the moonroof. It looked like a ring of golf ball dings around the moon roof. I went to a rallye and it wasnt there and we we got home to wash it they were there . Started with a few but now there is so many the cooperate guy it isn't even worth trying to fix it .

Just adding to the choir here. The GP2 works well as a daily driver. Recaro seats are very comfortable and appreciate the Xenons for night driving. With Bluetooth included, you have everything you need for daily use.
Agree with prior comment about changing the tires. Kumhos will wear out quickly and are not going to be of much use. And MFSW is a nice add-on.

I can understand the question. Coilovers and track tires are not necessarily the best weapons for commuting in rush hour traffic (or are they )
My R53 GP was sooo much fun to drive, yet it was not an ideal daily driver for year-round commuting. Extremely firm handling and exhaust drone will become less enjoyable when driving in traffic or rough roads for an extended period of time.
This is where the R56 GP works better IMHO. It is more tightly screwed together and the experience is closer to that of driving an ///M car.

Thanks for the opinions. Jackmac your last point hit it right in the head for me. This is a opportunity to get a amazing car for so cheap I would be stupid not too . Atleast for now it will have to be my daily driver. I live in ny so the roads aren't gp friendly most of the time . I was only able to test drive it for a lil . I will update this post as I break it in . I've read a Ton of other post on this and other forums about this so now it's time to read about breaking it in properly. I have a feeling I'm gonna to forget my jcw sooner then I think .

If my GP had cruise I would be in heaven and keep the tickets down.
Thanks

Road bumps and creases can catch you off guard, yanking the front wheels one way or the other. If you are not very attentive, you could get yourself in trouble.
There is a stretch of highway just over a bridge on CA 101, where the car always begins to pogo for several very entertaining or terrifying moments. I get a kick out of it now, but were I tired after a long drive and was not familiar with that stretch of road, shock and awe and possibly ouch.
Now I approach it now with a certain applied machismo or compensatory immaturity. "Real men don't need suspension." Yuc Yuc.

So I've been driving the GP as a daily driver for five days now and its actually not a bad drive at all. I thought the suspension was going to be harsh but it's really not that bad . Definitely dealable for me. I love the way it drives and handles and prolly even more after it breaks in fully

How did you get the MFSW? I'd love to have cruise control to keep my speed from drifting too high over the limit!
