I guess it makes sense to change out to winter wheels and tires if your GP 1551 is located in Maastricht! At least it's mighty clean for the picture.

GP 1551 is located across the pond. Take a look at this website for more pics:

http://www.autogespot.com/eng/viewca...type&type=Mini

Yes, all GP's had the red mirror caps, but some GP owners have changed them out.

And, a number of GP's have changed out the tires, and some have changed the wheels, too (either for "daily driver" duty, and/or for winter use).

Some people are crazy enough to have "special tires" for only track use. I can see using cheap wheels for rally tires for the winter.

But I thought winter was canclled this year, except for Denver. Those tires / rims look speed-rated for wheelchair speeds.

We're expecting our first snow of the season tonight...

This is the first year here in Germany that snow tires are mandatory after 1 January. Ours has the M+S runflats which keeps us legal.

As a native California boy, now living in New England, I say... c'mon up heah with yah big ol' summah tie-ahs and we'll show ya' why ya' need wintah tie-ahs - after ya' crash inta that tree ovah they-ah. E-yuh. .

Heck, a bunch of us are driving on the Arctic MINI Run to the eastern most point in Labrador, next month. You can have fun driving in the snow, that just ain't possible in sunny SoCal - until the next Ice Age, anyway.
