Isn't that more than it cost new? I think you'll have to wait another 25-30 years before it starts to appreciate.
Yes it's about $3,000 more than new but sounded like a good starting price - didn't say it was firm or open to discussion.
Also, it is in pristine condition - find another one out there like it. I have only heard of 1 that has less miles on it and it's part of a collection that is likely not going to be broken up or sold soon.
Anyway - it is for sale. We are starting to downsize so that we are able to travel starting in 4-2011. The other 2 "kids" will be garaged while we are on the road. The GP and a 68 Corvette need to find new loving homes.
This model did not have any options available. There were 2000 made - all exactly the same and numbered. Only 415 came to the US and I have heard of at least 3 being totalled out - one on the day it was picked up.
We are in North Idaho - about 25 miles from Spokane Washington.
We bought the car from MINI of Murray in Utah -drove it to the hotel (8 miles) put it on a trailer and hauled it home. As said - the remainder of the miles was it's only outing to a club meeting and back home.
This is a great opportunity for a collector. If you're looking for a driver, you could pay maybe $10k less for a GP with under 20k miles. There's something to be said for holding onto one, too. Those cars on Barrett-Jackson have to come from somewhere!

Sorry - there's a big difference between 52 and 13,500 miles.
We have added nothing to this car as far as after market options goes.
The only thing is it does have a new back window but it is a factory MINI window that was installed by the dealer in Tacoma, WA. Why...???
When we picked him (yes it's a him) up in Salt Lake City we loaded him on a car hauler trailer for the trip home to Post Falls Idaho. It was late January and the roads were not quite optimal. The back window got hit by a rock and it cracked - all over - but did not fall. We did not even notice it till we were at the car wash washing the road grime off of it before we unloaded it. When we got it home we very carefully let the window "break" out. We then took it over to Tacoma (after the weather improved) and got the window replaced by MINI. Oh - when we took it to Tacoma it was trailered over and back.
We have thought of going through Barrett Jackson as we have a friend who brokers cars there. May still yet as we are going to talk to him about taking our 68 Corvette to it. It has 77,000 original miles on it and has been garaged the past 20+ years. Only time it has been driven was on and off of moving vans when we were transfered around with my husbands company.
Would truly love to sell the MINI to someone who can really appreciate it - another MINI person!
Barrett-Jackson would be risky because they're no-reserve only. If you don't get at least 2 people in the audience looking for a nearly-new GP you'll be in trouble. I guess some people get around this by buying their cars back, but that's just more money out of your pocket. If you don't get a bite here, you might try the Autoweek classifieds.
One more thing: It seems a lot of people (or a lot more people than I would expect) are willing to spend $35,000 on an R56 with options. Based on that, someone should be willing to spend at least $35K on a nearly-new GP.

I do believe you can have a reserve on Barrett-Jackson items as I have seen several that have not met the reserve and therefore have not sold. But I would, of course, check this out before I listed anything with them. Thanks for the heads up.
Wish I saw this a month ago just spent over 35,000 on my new MINI

Generally,I have not seen this type of car at Barrett Jackson... Maybe some day.. maybe at Russo Steele... I was trying to keep mine for a future collector.. but not seeing really heading there at this point... Im sure some of the most pristine will to some extent... Like this one or Georges in NY... Mine is now my daily driver....

If you want big money for your GP, then I suggest don't drive it and make sure it stays in a garage and even cover it. Once you make it your daily driver the value is what the owner thinks it is. Only 415 made it to the states, makes finding one slim pickings !
