Intercooler Cover

I had my intercooler cover replaced on the GP today because it was discolored and the JCW emblem wasn't visible (turned yellow and blackish). Was wondering if any others have had that problem? The 3 other GPs here in my area are all ok. It appears that the foam like stuff on the underside of the bonnet is rubbing on it and it must get hot. Other than slicing some of it off, I need some ideas on how to keep it from happening again. Suggestions?

You're lucky, on my JCW it is bad and the dealer said it wasn't their problem, I needed to take better care of my car. It does partially buff off, but only about half way. Good luck.

tire shine helps it look new untill it gets dirty... other than that i dont know because i dont have a JCW. A good way to find out is ask a detailer at the dealer ship.

It's definitely a poor design since the scoop seal rubs on the logo when the hood is shut. The engine moves under acceleration & deceleration so I don't see a way to fix the stock cover.
