GP on RMW

Any GPs out there have the RMW treatment?
More specifically, the cams, heads, and tune?
Not the entire rotrex and stuff, what kinda HP,TQ and BD results? (Butt Dyno)
Getting ready to do it.

I would think that most GP owners would want to keep their MINIs as GPs.

Otherwise they would have gotten a stock MCS and done the RMW route for a lot less investment and trouble.

You could always get an MCS, give it the RMW treatment and

paint it like a GP.

if I'm not mistaken, there is one or two GPs that have the RMW treatment in addition to the stroker GP owned by Jan

Jan gave my GP (#1636) a tune last year. Very nice! Thanks, Jan.

I lost the dyno chart so don't ask for it, but my butt meter says it's a damn nice improvement!

It's still a GP, but enhanced!

My GP has just the RMW tune and gained 18HP. Car is stock right down the air filter.

My dyno sheet is in my gallery.

Check these two charts. One is my car with cam, header, and exhaust 219HP. The other is my buddies with head, cam, street header and Milltek exhaust. The numbers speak for both cars.

yea but 18HP is not the whole story. Tell us about the other local GP owner that drove your GP.

Yeah, it was/is a reservation, but gonna do the cams and head without core exchange and garage oem parts, if thats possible? I know prob a little more $$$. Cheaper than buying another MCS.

I don't know that the GP is ever going to become so valuable that "invisible" changes like the cylinder head/camshaft are going to seriously detract from its value. Obviously, you wouldn't want to cover a GP with rhinestones or put in velvet upholstery if you were concerned about resale value, but there's probably less financial risk involved with changing out engine internals and other "behind the scenes" parts.

^ the way I heard it, the non-ECU-tuned GP owner was amazed at the difference in the "way the tuned GP ran". I had my R50 Tuned the same day and had another R50-JCW owner drive my R50 last week and he too was amazed at how the RMW Tune changed the engine response. Both wish they had it done and are looking for the remote tune program

It's not just about HP&TQ it's about engine mapping and while I don't fully understand all of it, I do understand that it works and works very well.

Chris was very impressed. Instant throttle response, linear torque curve.
He only drove the car for about five minute down Golf road and instantly wanted to know how he could get his car tuned.

I did tell him about the possibility of a RMW remote tune in the future and that Dustin at AutoXCooper would be the man to set it up.

I'm so proud of the tune I keep a copy of my dyno sheet in the car.
