The Pittsburgh area club, Pittstop MINI, is hosting a Gy
minikhana October 10th to the 11th at Beaverun Race Track. I'm trying to drum up more
GP, and anyone else with JCW monster, participants than just me, so if your available that weekend and looking to give your GP a little thrashing this is the chance! For a little descripition this was sent to members:

The other day, I was asked what “Gyminikhana” was, and I used too many performance-driving words to be understood! I know better… and since our Club is mostly a “social” club I was asked to translate… since our event comes up October 11, I’ll translate
quickly! “GyMINIkhana” just a funny name, a play on words… for a FULL day HPDE event with a fun twist and a REALLY LOW price tag. Usually these events cost hundreds of dollars, we've subsidized ours as a service to the club, and it costs just
$45 (less for co-drivers!)(
$65 for non-members). Ours is more fun, and in many respects is better!
Our Club offers fun
Precision Driving instruction. That’s our chance to practice braking, turning, and accident avoidance with an instructor’s guidance, in your car, on closed, safe FUN courses. Learn what
you can do with your car - and learn what
your car can do.
Autocross: We get pro-level in-car instruction in Autocross - driving around a course defined by traffic cones on a 6 acre piece of pristine asphalt designed for the purpose. You can push the car as hard – or as easy – as you want, with pro-level critiques on both basic and advanced driving skills.
Autocross (track laps) We also get pro-level, in-car and out-of-car instruction in closed-course driving on a go-kart track (the Wilson Circuit). No curbs, nothing to hit, and nobody else on the track. It’s an opportunity to replicate street driving without the danger, and with great instructors! Oh - if you go a little fast, nobody's going to tell on you, and there are no speed traps...
OK, in the afternoon we practice – lots of
seat time – and we also have some fun with some events like “blind driving” and the “egg slalom” – and some Mini USA Motor Tober events in brandy-new Minis! The instructors are still on hand, but by then are usually offering tips to people who are having LOTS of fun. BeaveRun will offer to time your laps if you want, but if you don't want (and plenty don't!), that's OK too!
And when we're not driving, we're swapping stories, visiting, checking out minis (and other cars), watching people have fun, eating whatever we've brought... I hope that helps describe the event better. If anyone has any questions, check our website or email me! I’ll be happy to help!:::
