I'm not a fan of the Countryman, personally. It's too big for me, and I think it loses a lot of the responsiveness that defines the MINI in my eyes.
The troubles with the R56 "S" models aren't specific to the turbos themselves, but more to the systems that are there to support the turbos. Things like the vacuum pump, the High-Pressure pump for the direct injection, and so on.
The 2015 Cooper (and Cooper S) have different motors from the 2013 cars. The jury is still out on how good or bad they may be, since they haven't been on the road for very long.
Given my dislike of the Countryman, I'd go for the 2015 Cooper between those two. But I may not be the best person to ask...
