torque app for android!!!

not sure if this is a repost but i found a very cool torque app for android, you will also need a obd2 bluetooth adapter that you can pick up for 20 bux and you are set to get a bunch of car date, performance times, hp, torque, boost , and tempurature and even reset check engine or fault codes!

ENJOY!

I think it is a repost but none-the-less it is still an awesome app and you can get obdii bluetooth adapters for pretty cheap.

Come on guys this app needs to be really talked about on this forum.
It is the best app I have ever seen for cars.
I get so much data designed the way I want right in front of me.
I have a 7 inch android table set on the dash. (no it does not block my vision).
The app is only 5 bucks and easily worth 20.
I can't begin to list the data you get but as always I want more.
Has anyone found ways to get more, like PID codes for the Mini?

anyway if you have an android device download the free version, buy a cheap OBDII from amazon for less that 15 bucks and check it out.
Would like to get a good discussion going here on this app and it uses, mounting etc.
Will post pictures later of my set up.

I had tried using an OBD splitter to connect both my bluetooth reader with Torq and ScanGauge, but could only get one or the other to work. Anyone know how to get both to work simultaneously?

Great APP and gives a ton of info, that you know if anything needs to be adjusted, tweaked or if the car is perfect. Hard to believe a product like this is so cheap

It is a great app. I've been using it for over a year on my Galaxy 3 phone. I have attached a picture but I admit it's not very clear. I have engine temp, vacuum/boost, turbo temp., voltage, and fuel rail pressure.

The one thing that is lacking is oil temperature or oil pressure but that seems to be due to MINI not having a sensor to read. If anyone can figure out how to get either one of these on a N14, please post directions.

Thanks

How did you get turbo temp?

I am using the Catalyst Temperature (Bank 1, Sensor 1) sensor which I believe is the oxygen sensor directly after the turbo. It is measuring the exhaust gas temperature coming from the turbo.

Years ago I drove trucks with Cat, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel and you always idled down the engines before shutting down. This allowed the engine and turbo to cool so the high temps didn't harm the engine.

So basically I usually try to keep my foot out of it a few miles before I park the MINI and when I do stop I don't shut the engine down before the sensor is below 1,050 degrees. I had been trying to let it down to 1,000 degrees but i guess I'm too impatient

Does torque mis-read, or fail to read anything from the ECU? In my old truck, torque couldn't communicate with the ECU and it really didn't give me any useful info besides the basic revs, voltages, temps.

I find it works quite well. I haven't had any issues whatsoever. There have been reports of different Bluetooth Adapters that are poor quality, which may also cause problems.
