Vermont Mini Wrenching

All - Looking for any recommendations on a local mechanic in Chittenden County who is Mini-friendly. A quick search didn't come up with anything obvious.

My airbag light is on and I **really** do not want to drive to Mini of Peabody to have it checked and reset. Since I'm relocating up there soon anyway it might be a good time to get a local wrench on file for the inevitable repairs I'll start to have since my warranty is up.

Thanks!

I believe Nissan in S. Burlington works on MINIs. Also, there's a used car dealer that works on them in Waterbury (about 40 mins from Burlington) called Snowfire. They have a good rep as far as I know.

They're not "authorized" dealers, but there aren't many options in VT. Good luck. if you find someone else as well, please post here.

Why not contact a Vermont car club, i am sure they would know. I lived in Vermont (Rutland area) 40 or so years ago and belonged to the Killington sports car club. Not sure if they are still a club but i bet there is a car club in the area. Good luck..

Thanks all....I am fully aware that there are no dealers in VT. I guess i'll just hang on until I can get to mass.

I just figured that with all the minis up here there might be a good local place.

Thanks!

Here's a spot of good news: The Automaster near Burlington VT has officially announced that they are becoming a genuine MINI dealer, and will offer service, etc.

We just confirmed this over the phone. The deal is sealed they said and have a new building already for the new dealership now it's just a matter of time. They said could take 3-6 mos.

Has anybody used Sterling Motor Werks in Burlington VT? I use them for my Golf once and they seemed pretty good.

Assuming it is just complaining about something like temporarily disconnecting a seat, you can reset that yourself. Go hit the Mini Coding threads; you can reset it from the INPA software if memory serves. You'll need a $30 cable to connect your laptop to your car

(I did this myself last year after installing an amp under my passenger seat.)

If you are a mac or Linux user you'll need some virtualization software to run the bmw apps. WINE won't work; it needs a real windows driver.
