Do Mini people still wave at each other??

When I first got my copper s in 04......other mini people were always waving at me, much like many motorcycle riders do. But, over the last year i have noticed few fellow mini drivers see or choose to wave back.....is this form of comradely dead among fellow mini people ???

Many of us wave (I'm a motorcycle guy too, so I wave.) but I think as the car becomes more and more popular it's fewer "MINI Culture" kind of people riding around in them, statistically speaking. Keep waving!

I always wave and feel like a fool when they don't see me but I still do it. It is the 1 out of 10-20 that wave back that really make my day.

My experience is similar to @yetti96's, about 50% of MINI drivers wave back at me...but I keep waving! :-)

I definitely wave. If I see somebody not waving back, sometimes I will do a very enthusiastic wave to try to force one out of them!

I mean to wave, but I have to (1) recognise that the approaching vehicle is indeed a MINI, and (2) remember if I am driving my MINI. Sometimes, by the time my brain comes up to a "yes" for both, that other MINI has already passed by.

Yes i wave and it feels kinda nice when others wave back "WITH A SMILE". Though i am getting a little tired of not getting any response from most. It seems the MINI is just another car to some fellow owners. Funny how i get waves from non-MINI owners with big *** smiles too.

I always wave on my leisurely trips around the area. But if I'm raking the gears & cutting thru rush hour traffic in true MINI fashion, I'm usually focused on gaps a few cars ahead & don't really look for MINIs to wave unless at a stop light or maybe passing one.

I have only had 1 or 2 people wave to me first. But I always wave and about 50% of the time I get a wave back. When people leisurely drive on the weekends I generally get a few more waves. Keep Waving!

I didn't even know about the whole waving thing since im relatively new to the mini world. However I've had 3 people wave at me while I'm driving (they were all in minis) since I've owned the car (4 months) and I always wave back. However something that I've noticed is that it's near impossible to get a mini to race. I'm a naturally speed oriented guy, probably because my last car was an m5, so I always try to entice other minis.. In general, they won't budge unless they actually have visible performance mods.

In case you're interested, here is another link dealing with this topic:

Just keep waving, somedays I get a lot of return waves, somedays I don't get any!

I usually evaluate the oncoming MINI and choose whether to wave or not.

Brightly colored MINI with checkered mirror caps, checkered roof and checkered rearview-wave, they're enthusiastic.

Sparkling Silver or Pepper White with nothing on it-don't wave unless waved to, they're strictly a commuter who's looking for good gas mileage.

Black with darkly tinted windows-are they waving? I can't tell. Should I wave? I don't know-I don't wanna invade their privacy. It seems like it's important to them.

JK, I'll probably be tinting my windows on my Chili Red. I love that look.
