Thought I'd use this thread to keep track of the ongoing work on my 2010 Clubman S.
Picked up from Crevier on June 29, 2010
Within one week added
30% Ceramic Tint
Craven Nuvi mount
Craven Shorty antennae
H&R Street Performance Coilovers (ordered but not installed)
Drilled out 12mm to 14mm and fixed two bent custom painted wheels from my R53.
The change from the stock runflats to the ultra high performance rubber is a night day difference in comfort. There is only a 2 pound savings on my existing wheels/rubber over the stock wheels and runflats, as the Nitto Invo's are pretty heavy. But the difference with running 225 wide tires is night and day. The steering is less twitchy and requires more effort to steer which is better since the electric steering with the narrow stock tires
makes steering less sure.
Still on stock suspension, the gap on the rear isn't bad. The front is horrid though.

Really nice Clubbie! I know lowering will make it look and handle better but I will live with the gap. Almost on every MINI run I make, I will drive over some nasty road surfaces which tax my suspension. I also don't damage underneath due to me failing to inch up inclines.

I like the gap from a usability point of view for sure. I'm not planning on slamming it, just drop it down maybe half an inch..the front needs more than the rear. I've driven on a slammed suspension where I'm dragging everything over speed bumps...won't do that again..and somewhere in between that and stock where it's actually driveable but the gaps are closed up in the R53 and the only time I scraped the wheel wells was when I was fully loaded down. So that's the reason for the coilovers..I want the ability to raise and lower as needed, yet I'm still looking for an aggressive look while standing still, lol, without being over the top!

So it took some driving before the TPMS warning light came on. After reading the forums, it seems that it takes about 20 minutes before it gets triggered. I also found a local source for the BERU sensors, so it seems like I have a couple of options. Either mount the sensors in my wheels so they can trigger correctly, or mount the 4 sensors in a small "wheel barrow" wheel inflated to the right pressure and just leave that in the car all the time and it won't matter what wheels I have installed, the sensor light will never trigger, lol. Time to order some sensors!

Anybody got the "best" source for TPMS sensors? Outmotoring are two hundred & something for a set...my dealer wanted that for one sensor. Just curious. I'm thinking about ordering an extra set in case I change wheels when I switch out my runflats...

Just learned something new about our TPMS. All of you pre 2010 owners are lucky cause the TPMS sensors are a fraction of the cost for us 2010+. My own dealer wants about $142 a sensor/valve stem! Even from a discounted source, it's still $320 for a set of 4 while the 2007-2009 owners only have to pay $175 for a set of 4.
The part number for my TPMS is 36106790054
So if you're looking to purchase TPMS sensors for your MINI, the OEM ones are from BERU and 2010+ owners can call the dealer parts department with your VIN and they can tell you which sensors you've got.
Just to offer a comparison, I had an aftermarket Hella TPMS system in my R53 that gave near realtime feedback of internal temp, pressure, and an visual overview of which tires were low. The whole system cost $250 and each sensor was $60 separately. Unbelievable what this costs!!!

Solved the TPMS problem today. Got a spare set of sensors. Don't forget that the sensors must have the optional valve stem parts too. There are two different sensor types for 2007-2009 and 2010+.
My wheels were NOT designed for TPMS, but they worked fine.
Also picked up some Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates, adjustable control arms, and 22mm adjustable sway bar.
Yeah I know I said I'd stay stock and do mostly cosmetic mods...but I think these are Must Have mods, lol. An intake will be in the near future too.

Maybe a new module for the newer MINI's ?
Auto up / close sunroof(s) / DSC off and Disable TPMS ? Next thing ya know MINI will remove the oil dip sticks for idiot light on the dash like BMW's....

You know I've seen the red beltline on different MINIs and wasn't really fond of it. I did some photoshopping however and it doesn't look too bad on my color scheme. I agree it goes along with the theme. In this pic, I blacked out the gas cap and handles as well and changed the chrome on the scuttle to red as well.

Thanks! Yeah I did the Joey Mod on my R53 and it looked pretty sweet. Considering I just broke 1,000 miles...I think I want to wait a teeny bit longer before cracking them open to paint them, lol

I just did it on my Midnight Black R56 after hitting 3,000 miles. With the black/red scheme you're going for you can paint those HIDs both colors.

Cool! But then my rally lights will stick out like bug eyes, lol. I know there is an aftermarket rally light that's black when it's not lit...should have gotten those instead of the factory ones, lol.
