Thank god for the market place. Just bought a spring booster, Alta short air intake, Alta hot side intake and new floor mats. I can't wait to get them in the mail and put them in!

JCW CF **** with alcantara finish on the back.. it's nice, especially because it's ON SALE. Was going for a beach wood shift **** but this will do just fine!

Did this too! This thing was a b*tch of an undertaking, but fairly fulfilling once it's all back together!

This is the most FUN task out of them all--after prying these 2 parts together it's pretty much smooth sailing from there

Found out that the latch was broken in multiple places. I used plastic glue and epoxy to piece it back together

Forgot to post pics of the Alta intake install from a couple months ago.. she's a whiner.

Still have the aero grill in the box, and waiting on someone to pick up my 17% pulley or to trade me for a 15%! Can't wait til that happens!

That's all for today! Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Pampered Pocket Cub this weekend.

Got oil change, new rear breaks, and new belts at Prestige MINI in jersey.

Also got some new shoes! Good bye RTFs!!! Put on some 205/55ZR-16 BFgoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S SL. Love them!!! Gonna go for a ride today to really test them out. But just from the drive home I could feel and hear (or maybe NOT hear) the difference.

Probably looking good... even with no picture (except the pictures 3 days ago). Just keep that roof waxed for desert sun duty. Don't want that paint to boil off. We have a Liquid Yellow R53 running around in Portland (ME) but it has a white roof. I've seen it a couple of times this summer while I was riding bicycle through town. LY is very rare, plus its a great color for a Mini.

Agreed! AZ sun can be brutal as you already know!

Seems like there are less and less R53s running around... let alone LY... Guess that is normal as the generation ages.

Started to get him ready for the 1400 mile trailer ride across country. Then I will be sending him to a local shop on the east coast for a tune up, look at, and compression test. Does anyone have any recommendations in the South Coast MA, or RI area for a good shop or dealer?

I got about this far in installing my radar detector. Then realized I didn't have the right wire for my radar detector once I spliced into the purple wire. Ordered it from Amazon, should be in soon. Got it put back together until then. Also have a toggle switch to use to turn it off if I need to. Matches the toggles in the console pretty good. Will post more pics once I actually do it.

For some reason, and not because we have a bunch of Mini dealerships in Maine (the exact number is ZERO statewide), we seem to have a lot of Minis with Maine plates on our roads. And plenty of R53s. Unfortunate to see them here especially during the Winter being exposed to road salt that will eventually dissolve them. I see plenty of them out doing Winter commutes.

Just had to give up my 1998 Frontier King Cab that I used to get to work in bad Winter weather when the plows were not out. I live in the boonies, and during intense snow storms the plows don't generally venture out at night or on weekends, so the truck broke through lots of snow drifts getting to and coming home from work.

The thing never got stuck and I got to work when others could not. Even though I kept the frame as clean as I could, washed it out really well whenever it was above freezing, and then thoroughly cleaned at the end of the snow season, I only got 18 years out of it. The rust damage finally kept it from getting an inspection sticker this Summer. Mechanically it was still perfect, but the frame and many components were really thinning. Was a trouble free "mini" truck.

Picture from last Spring...

I cringe every time I see a salt encrusted Mini, and know it's fate. Not a problem where you live, for sure!

Not south shore, but Greasy's Garage in Worcester is one of the best around for MINI's

Trailer, eh? Still building your confidence? Probably best. Tough to find out you might have guessed wrong, right?

Oh no! Long live the Frontier! It sounds like it lived a good life though... Your boonies is some beautiful terrain though! Albeit tough.

Yes, I would be lost in snow. And what it does to vehicles would be heart breaking.

A lot of the CRX guys in the community that live in snow country park the car for months. Fall, it goes into hiding and it comes back out in the Spring. Makes sense.

Happens in my garage, too! It's a pain, but if you want to keep the car a while, it's a must. Just about everyone I know has a Winter beater. If not, they end up with a Winter beater anyway. The price we pay for cool weather is pretty painful sometimes.
