Mini died

03 with 141000 miles, never had any problems until yesterday (10-12-09) Drove to the store, stopped, got back in, started took off and she died, All she will do is crank and crank and crank, good battery though. Im 4+ hours from any dealer and an hour away from a shop. hopping to find a tester to see if I can get a fault code. any suggestions, any one, please.

I'm no mini expert, but since no one else has chimed in. It sounds like you have "air" and a starter, so that leaves only "spark" and "fuel". Since the electrics seem good and it is unlikely for the ignition to just die, I'm guessing fuel pump.

Some, if not all, auto supply stores will read error codes for you.

Also, check the forums for a club in your area and ask for suggestions on a good local shop that works on MINIs. I found one that way.

Trying cleaning the MAF. Sounds retarded but try it it might clear everything right up. Almost any car getting up in mileage (assuming it has one) it can never hurt to clean the MAF when ever you have problems.
