Seat covers (Wet Okole/Moss MINI) and Hyper Blue/Lightning Blue Cars
So. My used '06 MCc has the Space Grey cloth seats but they have a stain and IMO look a bit dingy.
I sent for and received my Wet Okole samples and it looks like the cobalt color matches best. I've searched here but I've only found one picture of any blue Wet Okoles on this site, and I can't remember whose car it was...
Is the cobalt too bright? It almost looks a little too loud.
How do the Wet Okoles compare to the Moss Mini seat covers? The Moss covers are a bit cheaper, but I haven't found pictures except on their site. Do the Moss Mini covers blue match Hyper or Lightning Blue very well? The Wet Okole Royal Blue looked a little purple next to my Hyper Blue car, and it looks as if the Moss covers are close to Royal Blue.
And about installation...I searched the site and the consensus seems to be that it is much easier if you remove the seats to install. How does this work if you have the airbags and heated seats? I don't like messing with disconnecting wires, especially since I've read if the airbag is disconnected you need to go to the dealer to have it reset.
Thanks for any advice, and I'd really love to see pictures of your neoprene seat covers and Hyper Blue MINIs!
I can't help on the color but I just got the Moss in black and they are great.
They take a little time to install but I did not need to take the seats out.
The Moss covers are made by Cover King if that gives any help on the colors.
I have black/grey Wet Okoles so I can't comment on the color. I live in Southern California so I went to their shop and had them install the covers while I watched. They did not remove the seats; just reached under to pull the straps tight. It was a bit awkward to get to some of the straps but not too bad. They also used a flat plastic tool to tuck the covers under the trim on the sides of the seats. It took them about 20 minutes to install the front covers.
Be prepared to put up with the neoprene smell for awhile. Most of it goes away after a couple of weeks but it takes about two months for it to completely dissappear.
Also, while they do not get hot and sticky like the leatherette, they are about the same with respect to sweating on warm days. This was a surprise, because I read comments from many people who said they did not sweat on these covers.
Overall, I'm pleased with the covers. I like the way they look and they are more comfortable than the stock seats.
I also got mine from Moss and they are made by Cover King. I installed both front and rear seats. The install was pretty easy, but took some time. I have three sons and have had the covers on for over a year and they seem to be holding up pretty well. The back seat is showing some wear and tear due to the boys, the front still look good. I put the red and black in my Chili red and white Mini. The red is not that close.
I have had the Wet Okole since last June and find them extremely comfortable in all weather.
I did remove the font seats for install, only problem on Air-Bag Warning is if ignition is turned on while seat plug is disconnected.
I went to the extra trouble because I was also adding several inches of Memory Foam padding,
but otherwise would not need to remove front seats.

I went with Cobalt as well...If you're trying to match Hyper blue I think it may be too light (see picture). I picked it thinking Royal looked too "purple" but in retrospect it may have been a better choice.
ALso, I couldn't figure out how to run the straps so I removed the seats. Recommend to disconnect the battery to avoid any airbag issues.

I have the Wet Okoles in my car and my son has the Moss (CoverKing) in his. The most noticable difference is the opening for the side air bags and the way the straps connect under the seats. For the price difference I would go with the Moss again. I bought his when Moss had a 15% off sale, great deal.

The Cover King seat covers (same as Moss MINI covers) are at Auto Barn, which is offering $10 off and free shipping. But, they don't seem to offer the Cover King covers for the rear seats in the MINI convertibles. This may be a problem if I want to cover my rear seats too.
Does anyone have the Cover King seat covers in the rear, in a convertible?
