Ahhh I hate Jacksonville, NC that is the butthole of the US.
I have been to worse places but Jacksonville does suck horribly. I'm jealous of you being in Hawaii, we got married at the Kaneohe Officers Club. Spent 2 years there while she was going through college and miss it!
No, No, No, you've obviously never been to Ft. Bliss, Texas! Sorry, but no military base, outside Iceland, beats that place for the arm-pit/butthole of the US Military.
Except for some deployed locations. As for BFE posts/bases...I'd vote for FT Irwin and/or Barstow, CA...
Well I am leaving Hawaii next week going back to Florida. And ok so you don't Jacksonville bites but Havelock, NC where Cherry Pt is truely hell. And are officer or Enlisted cause that changes everything. Nothing is worse then living in the barracks being harrassed by SNCOs and Officers asking why your room is dirty when the barracks are 30+ years old. And knowing that if they were to inspect base housing over 3/4 of those members would fail. But hey I am rambling on I can't wait to go to Florida need a change of senary.

In the Navy, at 12 years with no bad conduct, your stripes (the red ones in my military signature badge above) will turn gold.

Well I have been here in NHJAX for about a month now and it is depressing. I hate the Navy. Lazy, no pride, and look like crap. If I decide to stay in I am getting the hell off this base. I have no idea why I left Hawaii. Love being a Corpsmen but the Navy sux.
