Another Chili Red

Hi all,

One more!
8 days ago we picked up our new car from Bob Smith Calabasas in the the San Fernando Valley. Also a Chili Red MCS & built during Week 23 (first week of June) earlier this year - just like Leilani above... Black panther leather, anthracite dash and headliner were the main options we asked for.
Can we also get added to the CROC list too?

Thanks,

-e

Will the next CR/W step up please. Wait .. that's me!

It's about time that I got round to introducing the Quick Red One (KWK RED1).

2005/MCS/JCW CR/W with loads of add on chrome bits. Ipod Adapter, Aux input coupled with Harmon Kardon Drive+Play, (much better than the factory iPod adapter). JCW brakes, suspension, body kit. 18" alloys with Dunlop Runflats. Xenon lights, plus driving lights. Front & rear tow hooks. Elbow rest.
Front Shock tower strut, rear body strut. Glove box organiser. Sirius satellie Radio. Badges.

Please allocate me a CROC number at your convenience.

Steve (one of the mini owning Brits in SoCal.)

Red dash on a Coupe? Wow... I thought you could only get body colored dash on a Convertible... crazy... At least you won't fall asleep at the wheel... ever!

Not sure if this is new or not since I just started seriously shopping around for a Mini over a month ago. The chilli red is also on the inset of the door. Looks fantastic, I've been having dreams about the mini and can't wait for her birth and arrival!!!!

After we had already ordered our car I noticed too late that one of the JCW options was to get the dash trimmed out in leather... from the microscopic thumbnail on the MINIUSA website it looked kind of cool (is it just me or are those thumbnails WAY TOO SMALL???)...

Anyways has anyone gotten this and can he/she show a better picture of what the finished product looks like? Curious...

I'll post a pic of our CR/W as soon as we get a new digy cam... conveniently it's the wife's bday on friday... ;) It turns out her 2yr old Sony DSC-W1 gave up the ghost exactly 24hrs after we picked up the Mini... jealous? couldn't handle taking pics of the Chili Red so it broke? go figure... the lens is stuck in half-open/half-closed mode and it will cost almost as much to fix as to get a new one - weak!... oh well... built to last, right?

We ordered the MCS without the S-Lites because we really did not want runflats. In the meantime I got a second hand pair of S-Lites off of eBay and had them powder coated anthracite... They look perfect! If someone needs a high quality powdercoater reference in the San Fernando Valley I can recommend one. PM me.

It is and with great trepidation and sadness that I must resign from the OCROC. I had my '02 CR/W with sport pkg for 4 wonderful years. I wished I could have kept her, but I traded her for an orphan '05 PS JCW that sat unloved on the dealer floor for well over a year. The sticker price scared everyone away. If I didn't get the deal I got I would have run, too.
Hopefully, a few years down the line, I'll have some extra cash & pick up a used CR & return. I still think iCR IS the true Mini classic color. Good luck all!

Pete

You CAN'T resign...once a CR owner, always a CR owner...you're stuck here, even if you dont have your car anymore, haha. Congrats on the new JCW, btw.

EricB,
Click on the Gallery at the top right of this reply - this may be a better photo - I had the red trim option. They fitted this through the US dealer. It looks great in real life!

Hey All! As you can see from my sig, I am soon to become the proud owner of an 06 CR/B MCS/JCW! He hits US soil in Charleston, S.C. this afternoon!!! I see the CROC numbers have hit 203 (ladybugmc I think). I'm guessing you can't get a # out of order or pre-claim a number so I'll keep watching in the hopes that I can "sign up" right after 209 so I can be # 210. Kind of matches with the JCW thing and all. I don't know if anybody else is eyeing the same but I'll go read past posts so I'm not creating a problem. Look forward to becoming a CROC!
