You need to join every subgroup that you can find on NAM & be assigned a unique ID number for each group. Then install all those numbers on your rear window so you can't possibly see out of it when you back up

Congrats Nelson! She's a beauty. Very well cared for in her previous life, by the looks of it.
Happy Motoring!

But surely, bamatt, as another ragtop owner (and cr at that!), you know that it is impossible to reduce top up visibility any further! Even top DOWN visibility, with those chunky headrests, is a challenge!
My strategy? Always go lots faster than anyone else, so I am assured of a spot to pull back into should I decide to leave the left lane for a while...

Thanks for the clarification on numbering.
Cheers.

Overall it is in very good shape, it seems to have been well taken care of. It just turned over to 38000 on the trip home today. Not bad for an '02.

You don't really do anything...we're just compiling a list of ALL Chili Red MINI owners...and if you wanted a particualr spot on the list you could ask. Nothing special.

I've driven a 'vert...I wouldn't reccommend putting ANY stickers on that back window...lol.

goldcountrymini, AMAZING car. I really wanted the 'vert, but because of the New England winters I just got the sunroof.

Now it looks like I'm gonna be moving anyway... Oh well, I still love my car.

Wellllll....these past coupla days, I admit, I either stayed home or took the TDi!

But - held a rally around lake Candlewood last Saturday, which was a day peppered by monsoons. When it was a mere downpour, top was down... (As the leader, I couldn't possibly set a bad example!!
Even at 35 mph, wasn't getting wet...except for those big fat drops from the trees, and at those infernal stop signs CT DOT puts up everywhere!

What diehards MINI drivers are - we had a blast, in between and during the storms!

zzMini,
You live near Candlewood? That's awesome . I was born in Danbury and even though I live in sunny South Florida now, I am actually driving up there right now and should be there Saturday! Have not been up there in years. All the rain and flooding on the way up is nuts right now. Staying near Yardley, PA at the moment and the Delaware River is causing all sorts of problems. Hope I see your CR MINI up in Danbury around town while I am up there. I am currently driving my other "Mini" (the Mini VAN!!). At first I missed my CR MINI, but with all the flooding, etc. I am actually glad I left it at home and did not expose it to all this nasty weather.

Do you have an active group in Danbury? If so, how many MINI owners attend your meets? Do you have any meets coming up over the 4th of July weekend? Would be AWESOME to attend one - even though I don't have my MINI :(.

VicSkimmr,

I got my VIN# and its built, so I'm in! Just a minor detail that it hasn't gotten to my dealer yet....
I'm watching over it now, plotting the mods and shifting the gears....

Sir Mini

Hey MCT - check out nemini.org - it is the 'local' forum I use most. THere is a Let's Get Together - Meets, Rallys, Runs section. Not sure what is happening over the 4th. I am still reeling from hosting my own mini MINI run.
But a former Hatter is always welcome, even in a Mini VAN!
Depending on where you are when, we could maybe set up a very impromptu gathering. Do you have fond memories of the Hatch or Sycamore?
Drop me a PM and let's see what happens! Or post on that forum. It's a good group!

Enjoy your road trip!

I'm in!! Maggy is an 06 CR/W MCS with LSD, Sport, Premium, white S-lites, rear fog, Octagon Tartan, CR interior, and HK sound. This is my first new car as we usually buy the wife the dependable new car and I get the clunker. At 38, this is not my mid-life crisis car but rather an early retirement gift to myself. 20 years of serving the dictatorship of the Army which guards the Republic is EASILY worth a Mini!!!

Picked up mine today - 06 CR/W with Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, Tartan Red/Black seats, Navigation sys, LSD with some post-market JCW mods - definitely second middle-aged crisis. Had a '60 Mini Minor and a '65 Cooper back in the bad ole days.
Please issue me a number - no special request.

KRG05Mini #1

I'm trading my 05 PW/B MCS for a 06 CR/B JCW MCS. As you'll note, I am PW/B #1. Should you ever choose to don PW garb, I would consider a moniker swap.

edit: oops, sorry KRGMini05

I had the pleasure of meeting TSR53 and his family at Nevada Beach, Lake Tahoe on the 4th of July. He was here all the way from Vermont visiting his brother. We had a nice chat before the park ranger came along and told us to move our vehicles out of the campsite path.

Thanks for the grill badges, Thompson.

Chili Red Mini Cooper owners are the nicest people.
