OUCH!

An uprooted tree crushes a car Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, in Chicago, one day after high winds and torrential thunderstorms pounded the region.

Ouch is right. Although I am a bit surprised the roof wasn't completely caved in with broken glass everywhere seeing as how huge that tree was.

I THINK that's on Webster, somewhere between Clybourn and Halsted...

I always hated that tree. Now I know why.

I sure hope that if one like this one ever falls onto me when I'm in a car that it's a MINI. It may be the only way to walk away from the scene. I bet even the convertibles fare better than most other cars!

WOW. Looks like the roof took it pretty well. I find it ironic that, given all the talk about MINI's window glass being crap, that glass is in remarkably good shape!

Am I right in thinking the homeowner who owned the tree won't have to pay for the damages to the car? Act of God clause?

Feel sorry for the owner...that's going to be an expensive comp claim!

I think I'm right in saying that if you're driving along and a tree over 50 feet tall falls on you, you would probably survive that.

Still "Ouch" is what I would say.
