I thanked him on your behalf...

Funny thing happened to me today. I live in Celebration, FL which is in tourist central just outside of Disney World. So it is not uncommon to see foreign visitors but today was a lot of fun.

I had to take the day off for a dental emergency so I decided to run some errands. On my way home I had to fill up the tank so I stopped at a gas station right outside of the Celebration entrance. As I was pumping an older couple walked out of the mini-mart and walked by my car. As they passed the man mumbled something and I just assumed he was speaking to his wife. He then stopped and looked me in the eye and asked in a very brit accent- "do you like that car?"
Me: yes, very much so
Him: why?
It's a blast to drive, handles well and is more fun than any sports car I test drove
You feel it is built well?
Yes, I had some rattles but this is a great car, love it so much I bought my wife an 06 cabrio
I'll let my co-workers know you like it
Excuse me? Did you say your coworkers
Yes, I work at the plant that builds these beauts
Well on behalf of the MINI drivers and fans, THANK YOU

He was very modest but he blushed a bit when I thanked him on behalf of each and everyone of you...btw, he invited all of us to stay at his house if we want to take the tour

What a great story! We should all write the guy and find out when we can come and stay with them! Imagine if they got about ten thousand requests!

Great story...kind of made up for the dental emergency, eh? Hope your teeth are okay! I recently broke a molar and will need a gold crown.

Yeah, I have 2 fillings in my mouth and the one was close to the corner of my wisdom tooth (yes I still have all 4 at 38)- the corner broke off sometime in my sleep. Not painfull but very jagged with sharp edges of the filling sticking out.

But yes, the meeting was fun and definately made my week.

Ouch - sorry about the dental stuff. Been there, done that - so I feel for you my friend...yuck...

Cool story - thanks for sharing. Last time we went to Disney World - we took a little side trip to Celebration because we had heard so much about it. Pretty neat

Yeah, great story !!

And you told it well, too. The only way that post could have been better is if you could have typed it with the gentleman's words in a British accent.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for thanking him on our behalf. That is one message I think every MINI owner (well, most) would love to get to the folks at Plant Oxford...we are very grateful for the work they do.

Actually no, I figured you were over that bump in the road, since you were out running errands.
