Hello. Does anyone know if the new Blackberry 8800 is compatible with the 2007 Cooper S?
Thanks, Chris
Bluetooth is bluetooth. Any phone with bluetooth will connect to the bluetooth setup in a Mini. Where you will run into issues is the center armrest adapter. They only have them for a limited selection of phones. That being said, you can still sync up your phone with the bluetooth system in the Mini, you just may not be able to charge it through an armrest adapter.

SimpsonGI - yes, I agree "bluetooth is bluetooth". However, some models of phones, blackberries, etc. are more or less compatible when it comes to the address book and other functions when linked up to the car. The bberry 8700c is fully compatible according to the dealer and the most recent mini specs. However, I wasn't sure if the 8800 is as fully compatible as the 8700c in terms of full functionality when linked with the MCS. Sorry if I wasn't clearer in my first question.

Thanks for the responses.
Correct, what bluetooth features are available are entirely dependent on the phone itself. Some of the phone companies cripple what the phones are actually capable of, I know Verizon doesn't enable all of the options in their phones, such as the ability to transfer music, pictures of video from the phone to a PC via bluetooth. They do this to force you to buy their products/software for performing the transfer.
Or of course you have the option to purchase third party software to do that sort thing. So it isn't really what is compatible with the Mini system it is, it is if the phone is capable of sending all of the information...
